Quixtar Scam Business Review: The Job Description of Quixtar/Amway

By: Shawn Stoik

Quixtar is definitely one of the bigger MLM companies in the world, so of course scam rumors are bound to be out there.  But is there really a Quixtar scam or are they a legitimate online company?  What is the actual company and job description of Quixtar/Amway and are they worth pursuing?  Read on and decide for yourself.

Quixtar Introduction:

Alticor launched the multi-level marketing company, Quixtar, as the online version of the Amway Coporation in 1999.  Quixtar markets thousands of products online in a variety of categories to customers worldwide.

The Job Description of Quixtar/Amway:

Quixtar provides both consumer products and a business opportunity.  A person in Quixtar can become what they refer to as an “IBO” or an Independent Business Owner.  IBO’s can be paid commissions based on the amount of products they sell online through their websites.  They can also receive commissions from recruiting new IBO’s into their business.  To recruit new IBO’s, the original IBO has the choice of either cold-calling purchased leads, contacting their warm market of family and friends or conducting hotel and home meetings.

Quixtar Challenges:

Like many other multi-level marketing companies, Quixtar does present some challenges in that it will take a great deal of IBO’s in a person’s team (or downline) to create enough volume to earn a significant income since the margin on each product is so low.  There are definitely other online business opportunities with a higher price point, where it would require much fewer sales to achieve the same desired level of monthly income, and therefore less work to reach those results.

Conclusion:

So is there an actual Quixtar Scam?  In my opinion, it does not appear that Quixtar is a scam.  They are a legitimate business, with a true variety of products to market that can provide the opportunity to build a business and earn a real income.  However because of their style of business, low profit margins and the need to recruit multiple IBO’s to earn enough income, retention and attrition can present quite a challenge.

If you are someone who does not enjoy recruiting through cold-calling and home or hotel presentations, or you just cannot picture yourself having the ability to build massive downline organizations than your success with Quixtar will definitely be limited and I would recommend continuing your search.

I recommend looking for a more substantial online opportunity with an automated business system and mentoring program, as well as a higher price point that will achieve the higher income you are in need of!
